About Me

I’m no pro but I have been playing golf for over 25 years...pretty seriously. By seriously I mean when I'm in golfing mode I'm playing on the course at least once a week and I'm hitting balls or working on my short game at least twice a week.

I am basically self-taught, learning how to play mostly from books, particularly Jack Nicklaus' Golf My Way. I've had 2 lessons in my life. I probably should have had more. I watch golf tournaments and The Golf Channel all the time. I guess you could say I'm a student of the game. My wife would say I'm just a golf nut.

After about 10 years of playing I was able to qualify for the State Amatuer in Massachusetts one year. I shot a 76 in the first round and was in 6th place at a beatiful seaside course called Kittansett. I shot 80 the second day and tied for 32nd place. The top 32 went to match play. I missed making the final 32 when I got eliminated in the playoff. That was my high-water mark as a golfer.

My game got better after that. I had my handicap down to about 5 but the kids came and I couldn’t play as much. My handicap is about 7 at the moment and I’m working hard to get it back to where it was.

My low round in my prime was a 68, 4 under par. One of my best rounds was probably an 83 I shot at Bay Hill from the way back tees almost 7300 yards. It made me realize that those pros play a different game than us weekend guys. For me it was driver, 3 wood on almost every hole.

Now I work for a golf club manufacturer. I can’t say which one because they might not like some of the things I say on my site. I’m no designer or golf club expert but working in golf has helped me undertand golf clubs better. My job is in marketing, but I've learned a few things working there by listening to the people that know golf clubs.

To be honest I never took golf clubs that seriously. I thought there were more important things about being a good golfer than the clubs. I still feel that way. But I have learned that the right golf clubs are more important than I thought — particularly getting fit properly.

I’m learning new things about golf clubs all the time. I’ve started to get more passionate about them. You can’t love golf and work for a golf club manufacturer and not begin to learn and care about golf clubs. I’ll be keeping my ear to the ground looking for new things to pass along to you. Stay posted for the latest inside scoop on the newest golf clubs and technology.

If you have comments or questions on anything you see on the site, feel free to contact me. I’ll do my best to get back to you. Also if you have any reviews of golf clubs you've used we'd be glad to add them to the site. That way we can help each other out.

You can contact me here if you'd like to make any suggestions about the site.

How I Built This Site

I love golf and I love marketing so building a golf web site was a natural idea for me. But the more I learned about building web sites the more I found out that unless a site gets traffic it is pretty much invisible.

So I explored what it takes to get traffic. That's when I found Site Build It. SBI provides a complete suite of tools to help you build a web site that not only gets traffic but also can actually make money. It makes it easy to design pages (anyone who can type can do it) and gives you a step-by-step guide for making that site successful.
